HOW IT STARTED
It began with a midnight awakening.
Cem Kaplan, Editor-in-Chief of FabUK Magazine, President of FABUK INTERNATIONAL, and Partner of FAbUK Film Türkiye woke up in the middle of the night captured by a sudden, haunting inspiration. He wrote a song titled “YA DÜŞERSEN AKLIMA”, a piece deeply rooted in the heavy, nostalgic essence of the years 1988–1990. What followed was an unstoppable creative eruption: over the next 25 days, he wrote 32 songs.
This vast musical catalog became the genetic code of a larger cinematic vision. While the collection spans a staggering array of genres—from traditional pop, Jungle Blues, and jazz to ethereal Nordic textures—all of them are unified by Turkish lyrics tailored specifically to the film’s narrative needs.
Ultimately, the soundscape heavily transitioned into a cinematic, dark, and deeply melancholic Noir and Trip-Hop style. These pieces are far more than just individual tracks; they are sonic pathways designed to pull the listener directly into a cinematic story. A carefully curated selection from these 32 songs will serve as the official soundtrack and emotional backbone of the upcoming movie.

I am not a song artist in the traditional sense; I am a storyteller, a filmmaker, and a world-builder who uses the raw emotional power of music to paint the backdrop of human reality. For me, music is not the final product—it is the living, breathing atmosphere of a story waiting to be told on the silver screen.

Our instruments do not merely play notes; they speak, they cry, they shout, they rebel, and, when the weight of the world becomes too heavy, they softly cuddle the lonely soul. Every melody is a scene; every lyric is a dialogue from the depth of life.

Set against the dim, rain-slicked, and atmospheric streets of London, our upcoming 2027 production follows two main characters in their late 50s.
Let it be known from the outset: this is not a conventional love story. This is a profound story of friendship.
Our purpose with this film is to explore the unseen, intricate psychological threads that bind human lives together over decades. It is an exploration of memory, aging, shared history, and the beautiful, terrifying isolation of reality. In a modern cinematic landscape often filled with fast-paced, superficial noise, this project aims to return to the core of pure, atmospheric cinema.

SYNOPSIS
Serdar, a 50-year-old man living a quiet and unremarkable life, wakes one rainy morning haunted by vivid memories of Esra, the woman he once loved and lost decades ago. As fragments of the past begin resurfacing with startling intensity, he experiences an unexpected creative awakening. For the first time in his life, he starts writing songs, dark, atmospheric pieces filled with longing, memory, and unanswered questions.
What begins as a single song soon becomes an obsession. Unable to stop the flood of inspiration, Serdar writes relentlessly, convinced he has discovered a hidden talent buried deep within him. Eager to share this miraculous transformation, he reconnects with Aslı, his oldest friend from London, a woman who has remained quietly present throughout the many chapters of his life.
Their reunion rekindles decades of friendship and forgotten memories. But beneath Aslı’s warm smile lies a painful secret: she is facing what appears to be a terminal illness. Determined to bring comfort to his friend during her remaining time, Serdar begins meeting her every week. In cafés, parks, and rain-soaked corners of London, he places headphones over her ears and plays the haunting songs inspired by Esra and the ghosts of their youth.
As the weeks pass, music becomes the language through which they revisit lost dreams, old loves, and the fragile beauty of growing older. Yet while Serdar grows increasingly consumed by memory, Aslı watches him with a sadness she struggles to hide. The more songs he writes, the more reality itself seems to blur around him.
Set against the melancholic backdrop of modern London, YA DÜŞERSEN AKLIMA is a psychological drama about memory, friendship, and the stories we tell ourselves in order to survive. As winter closes in and the truth draws near, Serdar and Aslı are forced to confront a reality far more devastating than either of them imagined.
A moving and deeply human story, the film explores the thin line between remembrance and illusion and asks whether a beautiful lie can sometimes be the greatest act of love.
