April 17, 2025 — MUBI, the global streaming platform and film distributor, is set to exclusively premiere Grand Tour, the critically acclaimed feature by Portuguese director Miguel Gomes, this Friday, April 18, 2025. The film will be available to stream in North America, the UK, Ireland, Latin America, Turkey, and India.

Winner of Best Director at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, Grand Tour was also Portugal’s official submission for Best International Feature at the 2025 Academy Awards®. The film stars Gonçalo Waddington, Crista Alfaiate, Cláudio da Silva, and Lang Khê Tran.
A whimsical yet profound journey of unrequited love, Grand Tour follows Edward, a British civil servant in 1917 Burma, who flees his bride-to-be on the day of her arrival. What unfolds is a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Asia—shot across China, the Philippines, Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam—blending screwball comedy with melodrama in Gomes’ signature storytelling style.
Shot in breathtaking black-and-white interwoven with documentary-style footage, the film is a visual symphony co-written by Gomes alongside Mariana Ricardo, Telmo Churro, and Maureen Fazendeiro, and produced by Filipa Reis.
Grand Tour will be available exclusively on MUBI from April 18, promising audiences a cinematic escape across time, continents, and the complexities of the human heart.
