The project will be shot entirely in the North East of the UK. The Producers are Gail Lyon (Destination Wedding, Pistol, Erin Brockovich), Rosie Fellner (The Uninvited, Rabbit Trap), Craig Conway (Gatecrash, Little Red, Broken) and Kirsten Stoddart (Man Like Mobeen and Murder At The Embassy). TRASH TV is the first film in a partnership between Turnover XXV and Sunderland University, to bring more regional, national and international talent and film production to the area.
The film follows a cynical talk show host whose life unravels over a single day on air. While celebrating his 4,000th episode by going out live, a tangle of corrosive personal history and bad professional choices collide, dragging Sandy and his show to depths he never contemplated. His young producer, Kate, must pick up the pieces and decide whether she’ll become the next link in the toxic chain of talk show television. In the vein of Network, Trash TV holds a mirror to our complicity in the voyeuristic spectacle of lives exploited on screen.
Rounding out the cast are Robert Cavanah (Heathcliff in ITV’s Wuthering Heights, RNT’s Men Should Weep, Mark Antony in Young Vic’s Julius Caesar), Rosie Fellner (A Small Light, The Face of an Angel, The Trip To Italy) and Dave Johns (I, Daniel Blake, Fisherman’s Friends).
Noah Taylor is represented by Lou Coulson Associates, Linsten Management and Andrew Freedman Personal Manager.
Millie Brady is represented by Independent Talent and WME.
